COMENIUS INTERNATIONAL PROJECT, A SHORT MOVIE FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF YOUNG EUROPEANS

The last workshop from the Comenius international project, A Short Movie from the Viewpoint of Young European, took place in Gerze, Turkey, from 13 to 21 March 2013. Students and members of the staff involved in this workshop met their colleagues from the other partner schools from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Greece and Turkey. The topic was The butterfly effect in education. Our students presented a short movie made under the coordination of their drama teacher, Mr. Ian McShane.
Another activity was to paint on an outside wall. Our students, Esther Halal, Mihaela Marinescu, Fehmi Gul and Yavuz Dundar produced an amazing work that had been highly appreciated.

We spent some beautiful days on the Black Sea cost where the picturesque Gerze is located. We had a barbeque at the Erfelek waterfalls and we visited Sinop, another beautiful town from the Turkish Black Sea coast.
We visited Cappadocia, a historical region in Central Anatolia, characterized by unique geological, historic, and cultural features.

In Turkey we’ve been impressed by the warm people, excellent cuisine and fantastic landscapes. We all enjoyed the activities we took part in.

This was another great experience that we cherish in our hearts.

Workshop in Sala, Latvia

Sala, Latvia
The forth workshop from the Comenius international project, A Short Movie from the Viewpoint of Young European, took place in Sala, Latvia, from 7 to 12 October 2012. Students and members of the staff involved in this workshop met their colleagues from the other partner schools from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Greece and Turkey. The topic was Our music, our dances. Our students presented a short movie from the Romanian - Turkish Cultural Gala, event that Lumina Educational Institutions (from which our school is part) organize yearly in Bucharest. Students from our school and from the other Lumina schools perform in this event in front of a large audience. Special trainers for music and dances are involved in the show preparation. For our short presentation we selected some Romanian traditional songs and dances played by our students and also a collage, a short clip with our students playing on different instruments and singing in different locations in Romania and in Turkey.
In Latvia we’ve been impressed by the people and we all loved the activities we took part to. Students and teachers participated to dances workshops and it was a great experience that we’ll never forget. The visit to Riga was another activity that we all enjoyed.
This was another great experience that we cherish in our hearts.

Naples Workshop

COMENIUS INTERNATIONAL PROJECT, A SHORT MOVIE FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF YOUNG EUROPEANS

Naples Workshop

The third workshop from the Comenius international project, A Short Movie from the Viewpoint of Young European, took place in Naples, Italy, from 16 to 21 April 2012. The topic for the Naples workshop was Our town – Legends and History. Our students from year 10 prepared a movie about Bucharest. We went around the historical places of Bucharest and we made a short movie about our town’s legends, history and important places. We all enjoyed filming in the Lipscani Area, the Manuc’s Inn (Hanul lui Manuc), the Old Princely Court & Church (Palatul si Biserica Curtea Veche), the Stavropoleos Monastery (Manastirea Stavropoleos), the Russian Church (Biserica Rusa), the Coltea Hospital (Spitalul Coltea), the  Sutu Palace (Palatul Sutu), the University of Bucharest (Universitatea din Bucuresti), the Patriarchal Cathedral and the palace of the Patriarchate and the House of Parliament (Palatul Parlamentului or Casa Poporului). The 15 minutes movie about Bucharest has been appreciated by our partners during the Naples workshop where it had been presented. In Italy we also visited Rome, Vatican and Pompeii.
We believed this experience enhanced us and we are looking forward for the next meeting that will take place in Latvia, in October 2012.

Hradec Kralove meeting

The second workshop from the Comenius international project, A Short Movie from the Viewpoint of Young European, took place in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, from 5 to 10 February 2012. Students and members of the staff involved in this workshop met their colleagues from the other partner schools from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Greece and Turkey. The topic was A day in our school. Our students from year 10 prepared a movie about a day in ISB. They filmed different lessons, free time activities, and interviews with students and teachers. Alexandru Constantinescu was in charge with the editing of the movie. In Hradec Kralove we shared our school life experience with our partners who became our new friends. Each team presented a short movie about the educational system and the school life in general. Our hosts, the students from Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická a Střední zdravotnická škola (this is the name of our host school from Hradec Kralove), taught us some basic things about first aid, as they study in a Medical School and these first aid actions are part of their school activities. We organized a one day trip to Prague and we’ve been all impressed by its varied collections of architecture from Art Nouveau to Baroque, Renaissance, Cubist, Gothic, Neo-Classical and ultra-modern. Lucie Koblizkova was our guide and after showing us the most important cultural and touristic places, she took us to her favorite cake shop where we had the opportunity to taste ones of the best cakes ever, all in a bohemian environment.
We believed this experience enhanced us and we are looking forward for the next meeting that will take place in Naples, Italy, in April 2012.
